Did your review make the list?
My readers are AWESOME. I’ve gotten so many great reviews for Restore the Night and other books, I just had to recap some of them here. In order to do that, I hand-picked my top ten favorite review comments from 2025.

We’ll start at #10 since this is a countdown list.
They are great characters and are so good together.
Comment: My characters thank you!
#9:
Nickel and Rachel’s story is heartfelt and filled with emotional twists and turns that drew me into their lives.
Comment: HEARTFELT! I’m smiling.
#8:
This MC story takes you on a wild ride! Nickel and Rachel go through a lot, overcome a lot, and show just how unexpected love can come about.
Comment: I LOVE wild rides.
#7:
The tension between the Rebel Souls and the Destroyers MC fuels this gripping story, making it impossible to put down. A page-turner from start to finish!
Comment: YEAH! Tension! Woot! Plus they caught onto the backstory. I didn’t bore them to tears with it! YAY.
#6:
Not your usual motorcycle club book, great characters. Great backgrounds! Great world building and storytelling.
Comment: Aw… thank you!
Now we’re getting into the parts where it really was difficult to pick and choose who got that top honor. Each one of these were so much more amazing than I ever could have hoped.
In the fifth spot:
This story does have triggers, so consider the CW carefully. The author also writes about some difficult issues, but I didn’t think they were too explicit and were handled with care.
Comment: I worked HARD to make sure those issues and events were handled carefully. Their inclusion ALMOST made me scrap the book, TWICE.
#4:
I liked that this book had both their past relationship and their present, second chance relationship. When I read a second chance romance, I often find that a book is skimpy on the details of the past relationship, so I was satisfied reading this book. I also liked Nickel and Rachel. I do love a hawt geek! When he pushed her away- for her own safety- I did roll my eyes and wanted to apply the book to Nickel’s head with some force, but I do understand that it was necessary to the story.
Comment: YUP! I’m right there with you. I want to SEE why they broke up in the first place, and it better be a great reason, otherwise I won’t take the characters seriously.
In the #3 spot…(Such eloquent praise. I’m honored. <3)
Restore the Night is a breathtaking MC romance that completely captivated me from start to finish. I didn’t want to set my phone down until I read the last page of the book on my kindle app. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the main characters and seeing their story unfolding throughout the book. Author Calia Wilde continues to show me what an amazing author she is with each book that I read by her. I believe that Calia puts everything into the books she writes for her readers to enjoy.
Comment: Maybe not everything, but an awful lot. This book took me at least nine months to write. While I was writing it, I learned SO much about my characters’ faith, their lives, writing in general, and a little bit about myself. The fact that this was noticed means a lot to me.
Thank you!
In the #2 spot, this one was almost number one in my heart. It truly was what I was striving for in their story. And one scene in particular makes me cry EVERY DAMN TIME. It made my editor cry right there, too. So, I know I put everything into that scene and wrote it down like I saw and felt it inside. More importantly, people are noticing!
Their story had me crying more than once so be sure you have tissues close by while you’re reading.
ICYW, it is chapter 16. The “are you even American” phrase was written just a “smidge” of time after seeing “Civil War” in theaters so… those darn rose-colored glasses resonated.
And coming in at the NUMBER ONE spot, my favorite review comment was this:
There is the right mix or angst and grovel for me to love this story. I seriously wanted to throttle Nickel at times.
Comment: LOL, so did I. He was such an awful main character with so many flaws that they just bled out into his actions and how he treated Rachel. I more than happy to make him grovel. But even more than that, I wanted him to get some of that anger OUT. And he delivered in a very satisfying way.
If you didn’t see your review on the list, take heart. I enjoyed each and every one of the comments this year. Even the tougher ones. Those help me learn what to fix in the books ahead.
If you didn’t review, there is STILL TIME!
