A couple of days ago, I was asked about my “hero” for Blue-Eyed Jacks. I laughed. When that was met with confusion, I had to admit that Jackson is anything BUT a hero.
But he’s a GREAT main character.

Here are a few of the ways he gets complicated but yummy:
- He’s a ONE-WOMAN man despite not being faithful in the usual sense. See, he’s got to pretend that Kate means nothing to him. Otherwise, her jealous and vindictive husband would KNOW that she had Jackson’s help to flee him. To keep her safe, he pretends to be the biggest man-ho you could imagine.
- He’s super protective of woman. Despite his philandering act, he hates to see any woman abused. That’s the line he doesn’t cross. He’s a “touch her and die” sort.
- He’s well-versed in pleasure. There’s a part in the book where he talks about his mom having “The Joy of Sex” on the coffee table at home when he was growing up. His family life was extremely unconventional, being the son of a ruthless biker and a hooker.
- He’s a good-looking, aged-to-perfection sort. (See the cover!)
Yet… he’s got his flaws.

The biggest one is that he is not a white knight. He’ll cut you open rather than deal with your BS. He once beat an aged invalid with a phone book. But then again, that guy was a evil psycho when it came to women, so Jackson wasn’t doing it just for fun. He had free reign to unleash… and did. (See “O’Mega’s Revenge” for that story)
